1. Introduction of Department
After the university establishment, the Physics Department was started from the year 2020-21.
Presently 1 well educated faculty is working in this department. The Department of Physics at
Government Degree College Bhikiyasen, Almora, is committed to fostering a strong foundation
in the fundamental principles of physics.
2. Mission of the Department
The mission of Physics Department Govt. Degree College Bhikiyasen is as follows:
 Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills among students.
 Promote a spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation in a rural and resource-sensitive
environment.
 Provide a strong academic foundation to prepare students for advanced studies, research,
and diverse career paths in science and technology.
 Encourage ethical values, environmental awareness, and a sense of social responsibility
through scientific knowledge.

3. Goals of the Department
These are the goals of the physics department Bhikiyasen
(i) Academic Excellence
To provide high-quality undergraduate education in physics.
(ii) Skill Development
To enhance students' analytical, computational, and experimental skills through practical
laboratory work.
(iii) Research Orientation
To cultivate a research mindset among students by encouraging participation in projects,

To prepare students for postgraduate studies, competitive exams, and careers in teaching,

4. Vision of the Department
We aim to empower students from rural and semi-urban backgrounds with a deep understanding
of physical principles, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to sustainable development. We
will encourage graduation students to pursue masters and research. We will organize various
departmental activities in my department like conferences, workshops and seminars. So that the
students of my department get exposure and they can get different types of information from
people from other departments/institutes.
