 INTRODUCTION OF BOTANY DEPARTMENT:-
The Department of Botany was created in 2019-2020, undergraduate courses with the
establishment of the Government Degree College Bhikiyasen.Almora in the year 2006. It is a
fascinating field that connect us to the plant kingdom and provide valuable knowledgefor
addressing critical challenges related to specialized branches of botany and their applications.

 GOALS OF BOTANY DEPARTMENT:-
 Developing critical thinking, scientific attitudes, practical skills and research abilities.
 Promoting innovative ideas in Plant Science i.e. Herbal medicine, Horticulture,
Floriculture, Ethnobotany etc.
 Developing a sense of responsibility towards the environment and its conservation.
 VISION OF BOTANY DEPARTMENT:
 To explore the plant world.
 To create awareness among the students of the college and the people of the
surrounding locality about the plant resources found in this area.
 To organize seminars, workshops, symposiums etc. to spread awareness for
Biodiversity conservation in this area.
